![]() The sequenced texture maps make a pretty convincing tree all in all. The trunk and limbs are simple primitives.

![]() The plan is apparent. Make the ridges of the terrain models work like limbs and twigs so that corresponding growth textures fit or match the model. We painted our textures before we created the models, so they don't really correspond to the branches as well as the might. You want the foliage to cluster along the ridges, especially at the outer tips.

![]() The texture is so simple it doesn't need explanation. Unfortunately, it doesn't really fit the growth plan of the model. We needed to create the model first and then paint the map to match the pattern of ridges. One point worth mentioning is the use of different shadings within the map. By doing this, we augment the dimensional representation of the foliage by forcing both highlighted and shaded areas of foliage. |
